Moana Sands Group are a family owned property group that have recently increased their portfolio to three beautiful resorts across the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. The newest, Moana Sands Lagoon Resort, sprawls across the Muri Lagoon giving a truly idyllic holiday experience for guests.
Boasting 24 rooms, the resort has been cleverly designed so that each and every room enjoys the beautiful views of the blue lagoon. Situated right in the middle of the resort is a pristine blue salt water swimming pool, enhancing the views of the blue lagoon. Surrounding the pool is the restaurant and bar, sun lounging deck and relaxation areas, including a sandy lounging area with elevated lagoon views.
Shade is an extremely important part of a resort, giving guests relief from the heat of the hot sun and potential sunburn. Moana Sands needed to invest in outdoor sun umbrellas that could cope with the tough tropical conditions that islands are prone to. Auckland based company Shade7 supply high quality outdoor umbrellas for both the residential and commercial market, within New Zealand while also exporting internationally. Considering the location, environment and needs of the resort, Shade7’s Venice sun umbrellas were an ideal solution for shade.
The Venice sun umbrella is a lightweight yet exceptionally strong outdoor umbrella. With heavy duty 12mm fibreglass canopy arms the umbrella arms will flex and bend with the wind, just as a fishing rod bends with weight on it. The sun umbrella will stand strong in windy conditions, and is very easy to take down in very stormy conditions. Furthermore the umbrella canopies are manufactured with the finest solution-dyed acrylic canvas, offering the highest possible rating of UPF 80. The canopy fabric eliminates the maximum amount of harmful UV light achievable which means excellent sun protection for the guests of the Rarotongan resort.
Moana Sands Lagoon Resort have scattered some umbrellas by their pool and some on the elevated sandy bank. The umbrellas by the pool have been secured by bolting them onto the deck using a stainless steel spigot and base plate system. As some of the umbrellas are located on the sand, the resort have cleverly mounted the umbrellas on Shade7’s galvanised steel premium bases and buried them in the sand.
Another new resort that Shade7 have exported to recently is Six Senses Fiji. They have used Shade7’s Monaco centre post and Riviera cantilever umbrellas also by their pool area.
Shade7 supply the finest umbrellas for both the residential and commercial market. To enquire about which outdoor umbrella would be most appropriate for your location contact Shade7.
