OceanWeave is a luxury outdoor furniture brand specialising in premium quality commercial and residential outdoor furniture. The outdoor collections showcase a variety of materials including rattan, teak and powder coated aluminium. The furniture brand is owned by outdoor umbrella specialists Shade7, who have also been involved in the Plantation Island Resort development, supplying many of their commercial outdoor umbrellas for the project.
Plantation Island Resort have celebrated 50 years of being in business, which has been nicely timed with the launch of a stunning new development to expand the Fijian resort. The expansion has secured them with the title of being the largest resort within the Mamanuca Islands, giving them a size advantage over around 20 other resorts in that island group. Their brand new development has resulted in a fresh new arrivals bure, 40 new ocean view rooms, an inflatable water park, Tavola Restaurant and Bar and also a stunning new freshwater swimming pool. As part of the refurbishment process, Plantation Island Resort strengthened their existing relationship with Shade7, to not only add their outdoor umbrellas, but to also furnish the resort with a large range of outdoor furniture from their OceanWeave luxury outdoor furniture brand.
Welcoming guests to the resort is the newly developed Arrivals Bure, which is filled with a range of OceanWeave’s lounge furniture pieces. Their classic Iberia Arm Chairs, Paris Footstool and Paris Coffee Tables offer a relaxing retreat for their visitors. Produced in a premium bronze rattan-style weave with durable green fabric, the furniture matches the natural vibe of the bure and lush Fijian plantation feel. As the arrivals bure will see continual daily use, the commercial quality of these chairs is paramount. The weave is crafted from a high quality synthetic material which has been vigorously tested for durability. OceanWeave’s weave has been tested with a woven chair enduring 50,000 ongoing cycles of use, while at temperatures as high as 50ºC and as low as -10ºC, demonstrating its ability to handle harsh weather conditions. Whether the furniture is made from a weave, powder coated aluminium, teak or rope, all of the materials used by OceanWeave are of a premium commercial quality to withstand outdoor conditions all year long.
One of the key new developments with the Plantation Island project was the addition of the Tavola Restaurant and Bar, which flows out to the beautiful freshwater Tavola Pool. The restaurant itself is furnished with a woven outdoor dining set, composed of the woven Mississippi chairs and the woven Sulu Table in a delightful honey wicker colour. Finished with a frosted glass top framed by the weave, the table is easy to clean and is scratch-resistant, making it ideal for heavy patronage. the tropical outdoor climate in Fiji.
Adjacent to the Tavola restaurant is the new swimming pool which has increased the resorts pool total to four. This beautiful blue pool looks out to the oceanfront, and is framed by OceanWeave’s white Capri outdoor sun loungers with a complementary white powder coated aluminium slated table. The location of the pool and sun loungers gives guests a stunning outlook to the sea, while relaxing in style and comfort.
