For the third year in a row, OceanWeave are proud to be sponsors of The Block NZ. The hit reality TV series is well on its way through their sixth season, where 4 sets of contestants get the chance to win $100,000 by producing a house that sells for the largest profit. Not only that but they get to keep all of the money above the reserve price for themselves.
This years season has been called ‘Side x Side’ which reflects the nature of the semi-detached terraced houses that they are working on. Based in Northcote, Auckland these are the biggest houses in the history of The Block NZ. Each week the teams are tasked with a room or area to complete, and must produce it to an open home standard ready for sale. Along the way they have a series of challenges enabling them to collect additional money and products to assist in the creation of their room.
To help The Block NZ contestants with their outdoor area, OceanWeave offered one lucky pair $10,000 worth of OceanWeave outdoor furniture. Previous OceanWeave prize winners from The Block NZ have been contestants Emma and Courtney from season 5, plus Sarah and Minanne from season 4. In order to win this fantastic prize this season the participants went head to head in the famous Block plank challenge to construct the longest standing plank. The winners were brothers-in-law Andy and Nate.
Andy and Nate have gone from strength to strength winning 6 room challenges so far since The Block: Side x Side began. Andy, who makes furniture in his spare time, popped into OceanWeave to claim their prize. He selected the popular classic Paris modular rattan outdoor lounge set, plus a wooden Teak dining table and Rio outdoor dining chairs. The prize was valued up to $10,000 but Andy and Nate generously offered $2,000 to each of the other contestants, to share in the winnings.
OceanWeave’s furniture range can be viewed online or seen first hand in their Auckland showroom.
